1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Travel the World ("we", "our", or "the app") handles information when you use our Android application. Travel the World is a travel guide that helps users discover attractions, malls, hotels, and local businesses, with photos, opening hours, contact details, and map locations. The app is available in English, Persian (Farsi), and Arabic.
We aim to handle information responsibly and use it only for legitimate purposes related to operating, maintaining, securing, and improving the app and its services.
The app does not require you to create an account or sign in, does not show advertising, and does not ask for access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, or files.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on the app's features and the services enabled, the following information may be collected or processed:
- Contact form information
- If you use the Contact form in the app, we collect the name, email address, subject, and message you enter. This information is sent to our server (aspdotnetapps.com) and is used only to read and respond to your message. Using the Contact form is optional.
- Business submissions
- If you use the option to add a business to the business directory, we collect the information you enter, such as the business name, description, contact name, phone numbers, email address, website, address, postal code, opening hours, map coordinates, category, the mall (if any), and the photo you choose. The photo is selected through the Android photo picker, so the app receives only the picture you choose and does not get access to your other photos. This information is sent to our server and is intended to be displayed in the app's business directory, so please submit only information you are comfortable making public. Adding a business is optional.
- Device and notification identifiers
- When you enable push notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) generates a registration token associated with your app installation. The token is sent to our server and to Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) so that we can deliver push notifications to the app.
- IP addresses and connection information
- When the app registers for push notifications or communicates with online services, your IP address and technical connection information may be sent to and stored by our server and Google Firebase for communication, security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention. To determine the public IP address of your connection, the app contacts a third-party service (api.ipify.org). Like most online services, our servers may also keep standard request logs, such as IP address, request time, and app identifier.
- Technical and diagnostic information
- When you register for push notifications, the app sends information about your device and app to our server and to Cloud Firestore, such as device manufacturer and model, Android version, app version, app language, device locale, and time zone. Google Firebase or other service providers may also process technical information such as delivery information and diagnostic data.
- App usage (analytics) information
- The app uses Firebase Analytics to collect information about how the app is used, such as screens viewed and features used (for example, changing the language, sending a message, or opening a notification), so that we can understand and improve the app. We also count how often individual attractions, malls, hotels, and businesses are viewed. These counts are sent to our server together with the item viewed and are not linked to your name or email address.
- Map data
- The app shows maps using OpenStreetMap. When a map is displayed, map tiles are requested from OpenStreetMap servers, which can receive your IP address and technical information needed to deliver the tiles. The app does not use your device's location to show maps.
- Information stored on your device
- The app stores content (such as lists, descriptions, and images) and your settings (such as the selected language and the last notification received) on your device so it can load faster and work with a weak connection. You can remove this data by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app.
The exact information processed depends on how you use the app and how its integrated services operate.
3. How We Use Information
Information may be used for the following purposes:
- Responding to messages you send through the Contact form.
- Reviewing and publishing business listings you submit.
- Delivering push notifications.
- Operating and maintaining app functionality, including showing places and maps.
- Understanding how the app is used and improving it (analytics).
- Diagnosing errors and troubleshooting technical problems.
- Protecting the app and its services against misuse.
- Maintaining the reliability and security of online services.
4. Firebase and Third-Party Services
Travel the World uses Google Firebase services, including Firebase Cloud Messaging, Firebase Analytics, and Cloud Firestore, to support push notifications, analytics, and data storage. Depending on the services enabled, Google may process information needed to provide, secure, and maintain those services.
The app also uses OpenStreetMap to display maps and api.ipify.org to determine the public IP address of your connection. These services have their own privacy practices.
For more information, please review:
5. Data Sharing
Information may be processed by Google Firebase and other service providers acting on our behalf when necessary to provide notifications, analytics, maps, operate the app, maintain security, or troubleshoot problems.
Information you submit through the Contact form is not shared with third parties. Information you submit about a business may be shown to other users of the app in the business directory, as described above.
We do not sell users' personal information. Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law or when reasonably necessary to protect the security, rights, or safety of users and our services.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by systems under our control against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Data transmitted between the app and online services is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
Third-party service providers apply their own security measures. No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, subject to applicable legal requirements and service-provider retention practices.
Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to respond to you. FCM registration tokens and related device information are kept while needed to deliver notifications and are removed from systems under our control when no longer necessary. Business listings are kept for as long as they are shown in the directory. Google may retain certain information according to its own policies.
You can request deletion of your name, email address, messages, business listing, or device token at any time by emailing ir.keyvan@gmail.com. If you want us to find your device token, please include the app version and the device model shown in your device settings.
8. Your Privacy Choices
You can disable Travel the World notifications through your Android device settings. Disabling notifications may prevent you from receiving them but does not necessarily delete information already processed by service providers.
Using the Contact form and adding a business are optional. You may stop using the app at any time. Where applicable law provides rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information, you may contact us to exercise those rights.
9. Children's Privacy
Travel the World is a general-audience travel guide and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe that a child has provided personal information inappropriately, please contact us so that we can review the matter and take appropriate action.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the app, our data practices, third-party services, or applicable legal requirements. Updated versions will be published on this page with a revised date.
